A Few Of My Favorite Things

Well friends, it has been a bit since I have been writing. Studying for the MCATs, dealing with health issues and just pain life got in the way. I decided to write today because I realized waking up this morning was a little bit easier then many other mornings, since I’m the farthest thing from a morning person.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and filled the kitchen, just another feeling I have come to know to be one of the greatest adult accomplishments when it gets done! I bought new, healthier, food items which I am actually excited about. My mornings are usually the same every day, put wood on the fire to heat the house, make some coffee and have breakfast.

This morning when Nick woke me up (at 4am..) by making his coffee I got excited because I remembered I had gotten myself new coffee cups and I could try it when I woke up in a few hours. I also remembered I bought myself the Special K Vanilla Almond cereal and it is actually DELICIOUS! Healthy can taste good too which is very exciting to me!

Once I had my coffee and cereal (and took a picture of it for you guys), I began my daily studying, currently making my way through the Kaplan General Chemistry review book. In my head I have set a date for when I am taking this test and everyday I feel like I am less and less prepared to be taking it which scares me so much! It costs $320 to take the exam which I am already running low on money and it worries me that I will be spending money I am not ready to spend and getting a test score I am not proud to send to schools with my application.

Oh well, I will keep pushing on and doing the best that I can do and hopefully I will feel more confident when the final date for sign-ups approaches. While I am trying to keep my mind focused, I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor and the issue I had last time is gone but it has happened in two other spots now…so i’m not totally out of the clear. I will be spending this snowy buffalo day inside studying and waiting for the phone call that will let me know what our next step is in this lovely health journey.

Until then, I appreciate all you beautiful people listening to me rant about my amazing morning and day before I go into work tonight. I promise to keep ya’ll updated as much as possible when I find the time to!

  1. I just read a great article in learning. If quite down what you learned right after reading about it your retention will improve and you will be ready for that daunting. Good luck. I hate morning too.
